In 20, Maoli did it again with their 2nd adn 3rd releases. This was the groundbreaking album that first established the group as a premiere Hawaiian Island Reggae recording band. Maoli took the islands by storm with their debut album, "Groovin," having one hit after the next. With numerous performances already under his belt, Glenn then formed Maoli in 2008 with a new lineup of talented musicians, including bassist, Kana. In 2005, Glenn and the band he formed, "No Boundaries", won a Battle of the Bands competition on the island of Maui. By the time, he reached his senior year, Glenn was ready to share his music with a greater audience. It was also during this time that Glenn started recording demos of his songs.
In their sophomore year, the aspiring vocalist and bassist began writing original music at the encouragement of their high school teacher. Maoli (meaning "Native" in Hawaiian) started in Maui with Glenn Awong, a 14-year-old with a passion for music, and Kana Akiu-Corpuz. This unique combination of "Elements & Feelings" is pure life! Our human nature is in analogy to that mostly driven by four main feelings: sadness, anger, fear and happiness. We are gifted to live on our beautiful planet earth, that just exists because of the four main elements: water, fire, earth and wind. Legendary producer Paul Epworth has worked with FKA twigs and Adele, and there’s a subtlety to his touch on Blood that allows La Havas’ stylistic fancies and inimitable pipes to truly shine through.Did you ever ask yourself "what is life?" Her latest LP is titled Blood, and she’s apparently willing to spill a bit of it for her art-as evidenced by her devastatingly feverish performances on stunners like “Grow” and “Never Get Enough.” What cannot be emphasized enough is the natural grace and elegance of her singing, especially in stark contrast to the insufferable over-modulating of so many nu-gen R&B vocalists. It’s perhaps fitting that the opening track on Lianne La Havas‘ sophomore album is called “Unstoppable.” The twenty-five-year-old British singer-songwriter sensation is already beloved by Alicia Keys and Prince.
